Out of order

 I forgot to post these. This is Opal at 5 months. She is wearing a little romper that I wore when I was a baby.

 Check out those thunder thighs! I also had those when I was a baby.....well still kinda do.

Sometimes I forget we live in San Francisco...

My friend Rischel and I went to the Pacifica beach to hang out while our husbands surfed. It was super warm up by our house (side note: super warm to me is now 70's) so I threw swimsuits on me and Opal and headed out the door......it was so cold and windy by the beach. I felt like such a bad mom without even having a blanket to wrap around Opal...so instead I put everything on her that I had in the diaper bag. This is what she ended up looking like. She basically looks like a baby nerd.

 Who me?

I can't believe we already have to start thinking about child proofing our place! Her two sneaky feaks include grabbing a DVD off the entertainment center and crawling backwards to the computer's power cord.....and starting to suck on it. Good think it wasn't plugged in!

6 months

 Hi. I'm Opal. I like to sleep in my crib for a few hours at night...and then go snuggle with mommy and daddy for as long as possible.

I love my bear suit that keeps me warm in the cold San Francisco summer.

 I love this rug my mommy put hours and hours into making.....oh yeah and dad some.

 Yes I have fat rolls that pour out of my jeggins!

 I love to smile and show of my big blue eyes I got from my daddy.

 ...well kind of big....kind of squinty.

 I have the best mullet ever.....with my thin curly wisps of hair in the back.

I love grabbing faces and sticking my slobbery hands into peoples mouths.

...and I love being held by mommy.

Opal's things she does now:

eats rice cereal, avocado, bananas, and squash

grabs and plays with her toes and feet

rolls over onto her stomach

crawls/scoots herself backwards...and underthings like the couch where she gets stuck

wraps her blankie or any kind of material around her thumb and then sucks on it

shakes toys to make them rattle....at least I'm assuming she knows she's the one making the noise

responds to her name....most of the time

sucks on her right hand upside down and left thumb at the same time

rubs her eyes and ears when she is tired

sings herself to sleep

sits up on her own.....and frequently takes a dive for it

 One of Opal's new favorite things to do is to suck on her hand backwards. 

 We had a fun little BBQ since the boys all had school off. Thanks Taisja for having it at your place!
