Knitted sweater for Max

This is a sweater I knit for Max before he was even born. I wish I had a closer picture of the pattern. I just snapped a quick picture at church. I think he looks super handsome.

Target

Anisha and I have made it a goal to get out for an adventure almost everyday. A lot of those adventures include Target and H&M. Opal gets entertained by the back of Max's head and Max get entertained by sucking/biting anything he can get his hands on.

Ooops

 A while back we had a barbeque at Golden Gate Park. My friend's girl Lilly stepped on her food plate...

I could not stop laughing! Maybe you had to be there..

Solution

Every time Opal has a meltdown we can take her to the changing table and she will all of a sudden be happy go lucky. Jon's solution was to leave her in her changing table pad and carry her around the house like that. Surprisingly it works for awhile.

Play group at the palmers

 I think this was the second play group I took Opal to. It's pretty funny because she just watches the other mobile babies with amazement.

I just had to make sure her eyeballs didn't get scratched out. What are little baby's obsession with grabbing eyes?

We discovered that our little bear likes watching us cook and do dishes. That's an easy enough way to entertain her!

Sometimes Opal is so tired and desperate to suck on her binky that she doesn't have the time or energy to actually put her lips around the sucking part.....hey whatever works for you sista.

The Ellsworths....and then some

 We went to Baker's beach to do some family pictures of Ben, Anisha, and Max. It's a cool beach because you can see the Golden Gate bridge.

 I did not realize that the closer you walked to the Golden Gate bridge,the more nude people got.  This guy was my favorite....I mean don't worry he has his orthopedic shoes on and socks up to his knees. And thank goodness for that perfectly placed newspaper! It seems like the one thing you would not want to wear at the beach is dress shoes and socks, but that's just me. I guess I'm old fashioned...

 So I was taking these cute family shots of them and was snapping pictures like crazy in hopes I would get a good one. When I got home and was flipping through the pictures I noticed a background addition that hadn't caught my eye while I was looking through the camera.....I don't know how I missed it.

I think this series of pictures would make a good flip book.....and I swear he's posing in this last one....I think he knew he was in my pics.

Memorial Day

 We decided to head out of the fog to Palo Alto to do some sunny pooling. Thanks to Lisa for telling us about it and putting the partay together. Opal loved chillin' under her umbrella while I slathered her with sun lotion.

 How dorky is that...we have matching sun glasses......well almost.

 She LOVED the pool. It's not quite as warm as she likes her baths, but she enjoyed it just the same.

 She just kick, kick, kicked the whole time splashing away.

 Jon had the good idea of bringing her bumbo....she likes to sit up and see what's going on around her.

 Look at that chub! Thanks Rebecca for letting us have a swimming diaper....still not quite sure on how they work.

The only time she cried was when we got out of the pool.

Danville Half Marathon

 Jon and I ran a half marathon today in Danville. It's the first half marathon he has run and he did so amazing! I convinced my friend Jana to run and she also kicked my butt! 

 Here we all are starting out....I did the rookie mistake and started out way to fast and by mile six I was regretting it. It's so hard though to hang back with all the adrenaline and nerves.  

 Our wonderful friends Ben and Anisha came with us to the race which was early and about an hour away. They watched Opal while we ran. Luckily there was a nice path that they took a walk on an a farmers market close by that they passed the time at. I'm pretty sure Opal thinks Anisha is her second mom.

 The race was an out and back so Jon and I got to see each other around mile 5 for me and mile 7 for him. I yelled, "Hi honey! Good job!" There were two guys running in front of him and they both smiled and waved thinking I was talking to them.

 Running 13.1 miles is HARD! I could barley stand up straight let alone run towards the end. I remember hitting mile 10 and thinking...."you've got to be kidding me I can't do three more!" 

 So my time was around two hours and sixteen minutes....we haven't gotten our official times yet. I didn't  make my goal which was to beat my San Jose half marathon time: 2:09. But hey, I finished......and I wasn't the last one to do so which was my second goal! Jon finished around one hour and forty minutes........he is so fast! He was like the third or fourth guy to come in.....good job buddy!

I missed my girl after that long run....can't say she really missed me though. So after doing this run Jon and are wondering if are we going to be physically able to do the San Francisco marathon in July. I can't imagine running two of what we ran today....seems impossible. I guess we'll see.
