Weekend of Sun

.

We went down to Santa Cruz and camped on Friday night and went to the beach on Saturday morning....it's like our favorite thing to do lately.

 

We brought some of our bestest buddies.

 

The boys made a delicious breakfast...pancakes and eggs.

 

Shout out to Anisha who came camping seven months pregnant!

The beach was amazing...of course. It was super hot and the Maxfields dog Lilly kept on trying to get shade under people's legs. So they rigged this awesome shade maker up....which she loved.

This is what usually happens when we go to the beach....the boys end up playing Frisbee why the girls lay out and soak in the sun. We realized how accustomed to San Francisco weather we have become. After about two hours we were all sunned out!

 

 We stopped by a cute little burger joint and got some delicious food......check out Taisja's strawberry milk shake!

 

And yes, once again Jon got a GIGANTIC burger that he could barely fit his mouth over!

So I obviously was having some issues posting this one....the pictures are all over the place. I got so frustrated trying to fix it, I just decided to post it. You get the idea.

Famous!

Well, it happened! Our big break has come. Now that we are successful fart blanket models Diana has decided to quit her job. I'm leaving dental school, and we will pursue our true calling.

So Diana and I did a photo shoot a couple of years ago for a stock photography company. We always knew it would come back to bite us, but we never guessed it would be in such an outrageous way. For the record there was a dog named Max at the foot of the bed (out of the shot) who has flatulence problems, and Jessica (our photographer) was able to catch the moment beautifully.... That said, where can we order one of these blankets?

Flying High

A few weeks ago we finally flew kites on the beach. I've been wanting to do this ever since we've moved here. I have memories as a little girl flying kites with my Dad in the Bay Area.

Jon had picked us up some kites for a dollar to fly. They were challenging to get up in the air, but with some slight alterations they were flying high.

Our friends decided to try to make their own kite. It was quite the process. they made it out of paper and wire. It didn't fly very well.....to say the least.

We also did some barbecuing....hot dogs and marshmallows...aka heaven.

24 Hours

I'm just wondering, why it is that a gym called 24 hour fitness is NOT OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY!!!! I mean it kind of seems like false advertising. Seeing as how I'm nocturnal due to my work schedule, sometimes I'm awake and ready to go to the gym at 4 am. So it's very disappointing to show up to locked doors. Oh yeah and if you go online to their website it says they are open 24 hours...isn't that a little weird?

My little brother's band: Gypsy Cab

My brother is such and amazingly talented young man. He has a super rad band called Gypsy Cab that we were able to see last time we were in Utah. You should check it out. Oh yeah and he just got into the school of music at BYU.

Hand Made

I made this little baby blanket for Amy and Kory's baby Axel. I kind of wanted to keep it for myself. I need to start making double of everything.

Santa Cruz

The other weekend we went to Santa Cruz to lay on the beach and soak in the sun with Anisha and Ben. Then we walked around the coast......can believe those colors?

Someday we will move here......

Happy Belated Birthday to ME!

I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who came and ate the delicious happy birthday cake Jon made. Both of us have this cake every year, but it's so freakin delicious! Not sick of it yet.

Oh and I think facebook is kind of cool, because I got so many shout outs from people I haven't talked to forever.....so THANKS for making me feel loved!

Santa Monica continued.....

 

Mom, Dad, and I had so much fun lounging on the beach......and racing each other...of course I won! It was a nice relaxing day before surgery.

I'm NOT the ONLY one!

For those of you who even slightly know me......clumsy and I are best friends.  It really takes a good deal for me to get embarrassed. However, a few years ago I was running on the treadmill at the gym, tripped and landed on my stomach. The treadmill proceeded to fling me off onto the ground with a GIGANTIC thump! It didn't really hurt....only my pride. 

Today at the gym the girl next to me on the treadmill totally FLEW off and landed on her behind! It was all I could do to not bust out laughing. I tried to ask her if she was ok, but you could tell she was super embarrassed. Is it better to just pretend like it didn't happen, laugh, or jump down and try to help. For me I would rather people straight up laugh at me.....Anisha, you are very good at this. And poor Jon I have to swallow my laugh when ever something happens to him and ask him if he is ok. I then proceed to roll around on the ground laughing until I almost pee my pants!

Time well spent in L.A

I met my mom and dad in L.A where my mom was getting her hip surgery done. The first couple days we were there were a blast. We went to the beach and the pier and had ourselves a grand old time.

I got the least fishiest thing they had...which turned out to be salmon. It was DELICIOUS!

By the way: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!  It was fun hanging out with you this week...even though you were bed ridden half of the time. 

Advice on Things Not to Say

As a preface to this post I would like to say that unfortunately in our culture, having miscarriages and infertility is mostly a hush hush topic. I understand that some people are private by nature, but for the most part I feel like this is a time when people need the most support. And if nobody knows your situation... you probably are not going to get the support you need.  For those of you who know me....I'm not much of a private person. For these two reasons I feel okay to talk about our misfortunes.

When someone you know has had multiple miscarriages and is trying to conceive, telling them, "It obviously isn't the right time for you to have a baby. You're too young anyway", is no consolation. In fact I personally think it's just down right rude.

To clarify, I am not saying that we are infertile, but are experiencing some setbacks. I think I take the word "infertile" a bit more lightly than Jon does. Anyway, thanks to all you lovely people that have been there for us.

Thanksgiving Point

 

Spring Break Jon and I went home to Utah for a few days to hang out with the fam. One of those days we went to the farm place at Thanksgiving Point.....which neither of us had ever been to. Jon and Zoe are so cute.

I think this was Zoe's second time ridding the ponies. She still wanted my Dad by her side, but was holding on all by herself. Isn't that so freakin adorable?

Next we went on a carriage ride with the gigantic work horses. It was super fantastic. They don't even really use the reins on the horses. They just speak to them and the horses start and stop. How cool is that!

5 YEARS!!!!!

April 30th was our fifth wedding anniversary. I can't believe we've been married for five years already. 

Time flies when your having fun!

 Jon, I love you. You are my best friend and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.
